Polo, Nigeria’s premier luxury firm on Tuesday, 27th December 2022, embarked on a project to once again put a smile on the faces of its neighbouring communities through a CSR initiative; the Polo Christmas Food Drive.
All over the world, the Christmas season is synonymous with showing appreciation, giving love, and helping those in need. In the spirit of this season, and in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 1 (No Poverty) and 2 (Zero Hunger), Polo made it a point of duty to assist the communities to alleviate the impact of hunger and poverty faced in these areas.
Therefore, as a part of its end-of-year activities, the Polo team visited communities with a truck load of food items and relief materials. The locations visited were the widows & elderly at Ibadan Street, Ebute Meta, and the Old People’s Home, Lancaster Street, Yaba, Lagos. Present during the exercise was the Executive Director of Polo amongst other senior members of staff.
Welcoming the Polo team to the home was Mrs Adelaja, the manager of the Old People’s Home, Yaba. She expressed deep gratitude to the entire Polo team, applauding the organisation for its kind gesture and show of love in caring for the aged ones in society at such a special time of the year.
Speaking at the Food Drive, Ms Jennifer Obayuwana, the Executive Director of Polo, thanked the management of the homes for the hospitable reception the team received upon arrival. She went on to emphasize the importance of fulfilling this initiative to Polo Limited as an organisation.
“It is always a delight for us at Polo to offer support to our immediate communities. We are dedicated to doing our very best to improve the social and economic development of the society”, she said.
